WHAT SHE SAID ABOUT HERSELF:Block rockin' dj Cozmic Cat has dropped bombs on dancefloors worldwide, from hotels in Australia and Puerto Rico, to clubs in Las Vegas, D.C. and New York City. It was in the clubs of Philadelphia, however, where she really honed her DJ skills throughout the late 90s to the mid '00's .
Surrounded by the new sounds of Philly as well as the classic roots of disco, soul, garage house and Hiphop, Coz had the opportunity to spin with the likes of ?uest Love from the Roots, Cosmo Baker and Jazzy Jeff, and open for De La Soul, KRS ONE, Deep Dish, Bahamadia, and Switch. She became one of the city's best loved djs, spinning at events for celebs like Jill Scott, Justin Timberlake, P.Diddy, Jamie Foxx, John Waters, the Rolling Stones, Venus and Serena Williams and the Cirque du Soleil. In the 10 years Coz called Philly her home, the City of Brotherly Love voted her: "DJ on the Rise" (Philadelphia Magazine) "Best DJ", (Philadelphia City paper) "Best DJ (Mixer)" (Philadelphia City Paper) "Best DJ" Reader's choice (Citysearch.com) and "Best DJ" Editor's choice (Citysearch.com). As a promoter, producer and top party rocker, Cozmic Cat brings a live wire energy to the mix and reads the crowd purrrfectly. A passion for great selections, blends and 'remixes with a twist' keeps her set fresh and one step ahead of the game. She is THAT dj who rocks late night warehouse parties, skate rinks, upscale lounges, huge clubs, outdoor festivals and grassroots fundraisers without missing a beat. Coz now spins and produces music for JUPITER PRODUCTIONS out of her hometown Toronto where she holds down several monthly residencies at some of the city's top clubs. Her monthly Cherry Bomb event she hosts and djs with Denise Benson was voted Toronto's Best Women's Club Event 2007, 2008 and 2009 by Xtra Magazine. Catch an electrifying set of Classic House, Tech House, Ol Skool Hiphop + Dancehall, Funk classics or the latest booty shaking guilty pop pleasures, and you will realize that Cozmic Cat truly loves to make you dance, and she can rock ANY crowd. The Cat recently released Queer female MC Jazz's full length album REVOLUTIONS on Jupiter Productions label 2012, All beats made and produced by Cozmic Cat. |
