Black butterfly.I Like For You to be Still
I like for you to be still: it is as though you were absent, and you hear me from far away and my voice does not touch you. It seems as though your eyes had flown away and it seems that a kiss had sealed your mouth. As all things are filled with my soul you emerge from the things, filled with my soul. You are like my soul, a butterfly of dream, and you are like the word Melancholy. I like for you to be still, and you seem far away. It sounds as though you were lamenting, a butterfly cooing like a dove. And you hear me from far away, and my voice does not reach you: Let me come to be still in your silence. And let me talk to you with your silence that is bright as a lamp, simple as a ring. You are like the night, with its stillness and constellations. Your silence is that of a star, as remote and candid. I like for you to be still: it is as though you were absent, distant and full of sorrow as though you had died. One word then, one smile, is enough. And I am happy, happy that it's not true. - PABLO NERUDA - A'LEX OFFICIAL WEBSITE:

WHAT HE SAID ABOUT HIMSELF:- Have musicians parents helped you or has limited your artistic talent?
Well my mom is a gospel singer and has been singing since I was born. I didn't start making music until I was 18 but she would always have me and my sister trying new things. Piano lessons being one of them. When I was younger I had no plans on becoming a singer or songwriter so I didn't really take it too seriously. I wish I had because that would be one more thing that makes me a better creator now. The music industry is a tough industry and nothing is guaranteed but, with her being a singer herself, she understands the time and dedication it takes to be successful and she supports me 100%. So, if I had to sum it up... her being a singer HELPS my artistic talent. - What are the types of music that have influenced you the most? I grew up listening to mainly R&B and hip hop. I liked music from people like Musiq Souldchild, T.I., Missy Elliot, Outkast, and the list goes on. But as I've gotten older and started making my own music I've gotten into more alternative music. In my own music I like to pull from artists like Bruno Mars and Coldplay and mix it with my more urban background and do my own thing with it. - Where do you see yourself in a year? In a year I will be a thriving songwriter, creating a major buzz for myself throughout the music industry. I'll be in a position where I'll be able to help other people that are on the same path that I am now. |
